Introduction/Philosophy

CAN Academy is on the move and we can do all things through Him who strengthens us! We are growing and going and are excited about the great things that are being accomplished.  As newly admitted members of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), the 2015-2016 School Year will be the start of our Regional competition in the athletic extra-curricular activities/program.

CAN Academy is committed to developing and maintaining a competitive athletic program. School sponsored athletic competition is a part of the total educational program and has great potential to contribute to the sound growth and well-rounded development of students.  We will continue our 2015-2016 school year with boys and girls varsity basketball and boys and girls track.

Participation

Participation in athletics is a privilege.  This privilege may be lost as a result of improper conduct.  The responsibility for choosing each team is left up to the coach and his/her staff.  Players as well as parents must recognize the commitment level that will be needed to participate in the school athletic program.  A commitment to a team requires time.  A student on a school team is agreeing to make the commitment to practice each day throughout the season and to keep absences from practices and games minimal.

Any student that is planning to participate in our athletic program MUST have a current physical on file in the office before they are allowed to participate in any sport.
This is a screening to ensure that your child is medically eligible for participation in accordance with our association guidelines.  CAN Academy recommends that every child receive a regular physical exam from his/her primary care physician to ensure general good health.  Copies of the Athletic forms will be available in the front office.  Or you may also access the forms at the links below.
